Project Overview:

The Project is a greenfield mining, process, material handling and ship loading project with a focus on sustaining production, minimise environmental impacts, strengthen long-term relationships with neighbouring communities and foster local economic development.

Job Summary:

In this role, you will support multiple projects by performing technical or commercial logistics work. You will be responsible for domestic and international multi-leg shipments with both internal and external entities, ensuring safe, timely, and economical delivery of goods to meet project requirements. Your work will help ensure project requirements are satisfied in accordance with policies and procedures.  


"This position is designated as part-time telework per our global telework policy and may require at least three days of in-person attendance per week at the assigned office or project. Weekly in-person schedules will be determined by the individual and their supervisor, in consultation with functional or project leadership” 

Major Responsibilities:
  • Performs domestic and international multi-leg shipment responsibilities in support of project requirements to ensure the safe, timely, and economical delivery of goods to meet project requirements 
  • Prepares logistics reports or performance metrics as required to satisfy project information requirements 
  • Identifies transport cost and service alternatives to support materials/equipment purchase decisions and use of Logistics Service Providers 
  • Prepares Logistics Service Provider commercial bid tabs, commitment authorizations and contract documents 
  • Prepares logistics studies including site and Logistics Service Provider facility visits 
Education and Experience Requirements:
  • Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 8-10  years of relevant experience or 12-14 years of relevant work experience
Required Knowledge and Skills:
  • Project Cargo and Heavy Transport Expertise
    Extensive knowledge of project cargo transportation, including oversize/overmass (OSOM) cargo, module deliveries, heavy haul transport, route assessments, transport engineering constraints, and load-out/discharge methodologies.
  • Marine and Remote Site Logistics
    Advanced understanding of breakbulk and project shipping, heavy lift vessels (HLVs), multipurpose vessels (MPVs), barging operations, port infrastructure, and logistics solutions for remote and infrastructure-constrained project locations.
  • Strategic Logistics Planning
    Ability to develop logistics strategies, transportation studies, logistics execution plans, and supply chain solutions that optimise safety, cost, schedule, risk, and operational performance.
  • Transport Risk and Assurance
    Strong understanding of logistics risk management, transport assurance requirements, lift and transport studies, contractor assurance processes, and governance frameworks associated with complex transportation activities.
  • Biosecurity, Regulatory and Trade Compliance
    Working knowledge of Australian and international biosecurity requirements, customs processes, import/export regulations, dangerous goods requirements, and Incoterms® 2020.
  • Commercial and Contracting Capability
    Advanced understanding of logistics contracting, service provider procurement, bid evaluation, commercial negotiations, freight cost drivers, and allocation of commercial and operational risk.
  • Stakeholder Management and Leadership
    Ability to lead logistics interfaces across engineering, procurement, construction, suppliers, logistics service providers, government authorities, and client organisations to achieve project objectives.
  • Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills
    Capability to evaluate complex logistics challenges, assess competing priorities, and develop practical, innovative, and risk-based solutions with limited supervision.
  • Safety and Operational Excellence
    Comprehensive understanding of logistics safety requirements, heavy transport and lifting risks, environmental considerations, and operational controls required to execute complex logistics activities safely and compliantly.

Key Qualification Factors

  • Major Project Cargo and Heavy Haul Experience
    Demonstrated experience managing complex project cargo movements, including module deliveries, heavy haul transport, marine transportation, and logistics support for major capital projects.
  • Remote Site Logistics Experience
    Proven experience planning and executing logistics solutions for remote or infrastructure-constrained sites, including management of marine, road, port, and supply base interfaces.
  • Strategic Logistics Leadership
    Demonstrated ability to lead logistics studies, transportation strategies, execution planning, risk assessments, and multidisciplinary stakeholder engagement activities.
  • Marine and Surface Transport Expertise
    Significant experience across both marine and road transportation disciplines, including project shipping, barging, heavy lift operations, route assessments, and contractor management.
  • Commercial, Regulatory and Biosecurity Knowledge
    Proven experience managing logistics service providers and contracts, with strong understanding of biosecurity, customs, regulatory compliance, and logistics risk management.
