Job Description

The Office of Chief Medical Examiner investigates cases of persons who die within New York City from criminal violence, by accident, by suicide, suddenly when in apparent health, when unattended by a physician, in a correctional facility or in any suspicious or unusual manner or where an application is made pursuant to law for a permit to cremate a body of a person. As a Materials & Logistics apprentice, you will gain hands-on experience in our logistics operations. Working closely with the material logistics team, you'll assist in coordinating inventory and tracking shipments. This apprenticeship offers the opportunity to contribute to real-world projects and develop problem-solving skills in a fast-paced distribution environment.
Job Duties:
- Assist with printing, labeling, and filing of purchase orders for receiving.
- Assist with mail deliveries and pick-ups.
- Assist with filing of storeroom orders and storeroom purchase orders.
- Assist with contacting vendors for invoices and additional supporting documentation.
- Assist with inventory counts.
- Assist with creating and updating spreadsheets.
SPECIAL NOTE:
Selected candidates will be required to provide a DNA sample by swabbing.
