About the Role

The Sales Account Manager will drive sales growth my meeting and exceeding sales goals and objectives. This position requires a thorough understanding of compounds and market conditions and the ability to communicate and collaborate across departments to ensure customer satisfaction effectively. In this role, the Account Manager will develop and maintain strong customer relationships, understand market trends and execute each sales process effectively. They will provide superior and efficient customer service and account management through daily management to strategic domestic accounts, and seeking solutions, both internally and externally, for process improvement, industry and logistical changes, and customers' requests. The Account Manager must communicate clearly and concisely to team members and others within our organization along with customers and vendors and support product management with pricing and forecasting.

Must live in the Southeast of the United States.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • May include, but are not limited to, the following:
  • Act and Serve as the main point of contact in all matters related to client concerns and needs. Communicate with the T&D team, Operations team and Sales personnel on product selection, availability and shipment status
  • Develop and maintain relationships with current and potential accounts in territory
  • Communicate daily by telephone and/or email with customers regarding order status and pro-actively communicates information relative to their needs
  • Determine individual territory sales strategies for all customers. This is to include: product mix, margin upgrade, optimal ship to locations, sales call frequency, management visit frequency, technical service visit frequency and agenda
  • Identify and perform due diligence for new direct and distribution opportunities
  • Support Product management for territory Pricing and Sales forecasting for all customers
  • Work/Communicate with our Supply chain department to ensure on time delivery
  • Work with customer service representatives, technical and development and product management on complaint resolution upon receipt from customer
  • Ensure customer master data is up to date in systems and profiles
  • Coordinate and review customer credit status with credit analyst to prevent shipments to customers who are credit risks
  • Comply with all company and governmental policies and procedures
  • Fully support company goals of continuous improvement and operational excellence at strategic and tactical levels including reviewing area of responsibility for improvement opportunities to initiate projects or communicate ideas to management as well as active participation on our team
  • Provide KPIs on a monthly, quarterly, or annual basis; SIP, Monthly report out, etc.
  • Keeping an eye on yearly objectives/goals to reach the global goals (personal and team - global)
  • Any additional responsibilities or tasks as assigned

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field is required. Master's degree is preferred
  • Must have a minimum of seven years of customer service or three years of sales experience
  • Five years of progressive experience in customer service and sales in place of degree requirement
  • Demonstrated skills at Account relationship management
  • Excellent skills as an effective and persuasive speaker; excellent writing skills
  • Ability to work with high level executives and support personnel
  • Must possess and exhibit exceptional self-motivational characteristics
  • Must be computer literate and be able to operate multiple office machines
  • Strong communications skills are required
  • Must be detailed oriented
  • Must be able to work in a pressured environment with rigid deadlines and be willing to work overtime when required
  • Must be team minded

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit; stand; walk; use hands to touch, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Must be able to drive and travel by airplane. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate, as normally based in an office. Some of the work may be required in the operating units which can require usage of required PPE including safety glasses, hearing protection, etc. May also result in exposure to outside elements and may require usage of stairs and elevators. Travel will be minimum of 50% including air travel and/or auto travel.
