Position Summary

The Operations Manager supports the successful execution of utility-scale solar construction projects by overseeing day-to-day site operations, logistics, field coordination, and administrative functions across assigned projects. This role works closely with the Construction Manager, Project Managers, Superintendents, subcontractors, vendors, and corporate support teams to ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, on schedule, and within budget.

The Operations Manager serves as a key operational leader on-site, helping maintain organization, communication, compliance, and workforce coordination throughout all phases of construction.


Key ResponsibilitiesSite Operations & Coordination
  • Support overall field operations for utility-scale solar construction projects.
  • Coordinate daily site activities with Superintendents, subcontractors, and field teams.
  • Assist the Construction Manager with execution planning, staffing coordination, and operational support.
  • Monitor site productivity, manpower utilization, equipment usage, and material flow.
  • Help ensure construction activities align with project schedules and milestones.
  • Identify operational issues and assist in implementing corrective actions.
Logistics & Resource Management
  • Coordinate delivery schedules for materials, equipment, and tools.
  • Track inventory, staging areas, and site logistics to minimize delays and disruptions.
  • Support mobilization and demobilization activities for crews and equipment.
  • Assist with vendor and subcontractor coordination related to site operations.
  • Maintain accurate records for equipment, rentals, fuel usage, and site assets.
Safety & Compliance
  • Promote a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with company safety policies and OSHA requirements.
  • Participate in daily safety meetings, toolbox talks, and site inspections.
  • Assist with incident reporting, corrective actions, and safety documentation.
  • Ensure site operations comply with environmental, quality, and regulatory requirements.
Reporting & Documentation
  • Maintain daily reports, manpower logs, equipment tracking, and operational metrics.
  • Support progress reporting and documentation for internal and client stakeholders.
  • Assist with tracking schedules, production quantities, and operational KPIs.
  • Coordinate document flow between field teams and corporate departments.
Team & Stakeholder Support
  • Serve as a primary operational liaison between field personnel and project leadership.
  • Support onboarding and coordination of field staff and subcontractors.
  • Help resolve operational conflicts and maintain strong working relationships on-site.
  • Assist with client visits, inspections, audits, and project meetings as needed.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, or related field preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience supporting construction operations, preferably in utility-scale solar, renewable energy, or heavy civil construction.
  • Strong understanding of solar construction processes, field operations, and logistics coordination.
  • Experience working on multi-million-dollar EPC construction projects preferred.
  • Knowledge of OSHA safety standards and construction compliance requirements.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and construction management software.
  • Ability to work in fast-paced field environments and manage multiple priorities.
  • Willingness to travel and work at project sites as required.

Preferred Experience
  • Utility-scale solar or renewable energy construction experience.
  • Experience supporting self-perform construction crews.
  • Familiarity with scheduling software such as Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project.
  • Experience with project reporting systems, procurement coordination, and subcontractor management.
