JOB DESCRIPTION

  • Reporting to the Vice President of Logistics, the Senior Director of Logistics is responsible for leading and optimizing all transportation, logistics, scheduling, and distribution activities across multiple manufacturing facilities and distribution centers. This role provides strategic leadership to a team of three Regional Logistics Managers and is accountable for delivering best-in-class performance in the areas of cost, service, safety, and shipment execution.
  • The Senior Director will work closely with Sales, Operations, Warehouse, Customer Service, and Supply Chain teams to ensure customer commitments are achieved while maintaining efficient, safe, and cost-effective logistics operations. The role will drive continuous improvement initiatives, network optimization, carrier strategy, and operational excellence across the organization.
  • Responsible for the creation and maintenance of all departmental reporting including freight budgets, monthly and quarterly KPIs, carrier performance scorecards, as well as ad hoc reporting/analysis.
  • Develop reports for other Logistics Managers to facilitate constant access to freight costs and KPIs.
  • Coordinate with Logistics Managers and Director to ensure all carrier strategies are executed at the Logistics Dispatcher level. Ensure carrier compliance with all customer service requirements as well as standardizing all internal operating procedures.
  • Lead all new acquisition integration for Logistics. Including integration of carriers to Zekelman standards, contracts, rate negotiations, as well as employee and carrier training for all systems.
  • Travel within the US and Canada will be required as needed
  • Other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Degree or Diploma from an accredited post-secondary school.
  • Previous experience in Logistics is preferred.
  • Previous work with a large flatbed shipper is preferred
  • Very detail oriented.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organization skills and multi-tasking capabilities.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced and highly stressful environment at times.
  • Previous experience with a Transportation Management System is a bonus.
  • Ability to work within a team and with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to travel when required for training purposes.

The target compensation for this role is $160,000 - $185,000 plus bonus.
