Company Description Odyssey Lodge Alaska is a premier hospitality-focused adventure lodge located in Kachemak Bay near Homer, AK, offering guests an immersive Alaskan experience in a scenic coastal setting. The lodge is dedicated to providing comfortable accommodations, quality food and beverage services, and personalized guest adventure experiences. Team members work in a collaborative environment that values reliability, professionalism, and attention to detail. The lodge operates seasonally with varying guest volumes, requiring staff to be adaptable and service-oriented.

Role Description The Lodge Manager is responsible for overseeing day-to-day operations of Odyssey Lodge Alaska, ensuring a high standard of guest service and smooth functioning of all departments. This full-time, on-site role in Homer, AK includes managing guest check-in/check-out processes, supervising staff schedules, and coordinating housekeeping, maintenance, and food and beverage services. The Lodge Manager monitors budgets, inventory, and vendor relationships, and ensures compliance with safety, health, and local regulatory requirements. This role also involves training and coaching staff, handling guest feedback and service recovery, and collaborating with ownership on operational improvements and seasonal planning.

Qualifications

  • Strong Communication skills, including clear verbal and written interaction with guests, staff, and vendors.
  • Proven Customer Service abilities, with a focus on hospitality, problem resolution, and creating positive guest experiences.
  • Experience with Budgeting and basic lodge or hotel administration, including cost control and inventory management.
  • Training skills to onboard, mentor, and support team members in operations and guest service standards.
  • Knowledge of Food & Beverage operations, including coordination with kitchen and bar staff, service standards, and hygiene practices.
  • Previous experience in lodge, hotel, or hospitality management required.
  • Ability to work on-site 5 miles across Kachemak Bay by boat from Homer, AK, including flexible hours, weekends, and seasonal peak periods.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks in a dynamic environment.
  • Basic proficiency with reservation systems and common office software.
  • Bachelors Degree or equivalent required; post-secondary education in hospitality is a plus.
