Registered Nurse

Job Title: Registered Nurse

Shift Hours per Shift: 12 hours (7 PM - 7 AM)

Experience: Minimum of 1 year of experience in related nursing specialty preferred

License: RN License in state of employment or compact required

Certifications: BLS certification via AHA required

Must-Have: Candidates must be willing to float

Description: Candidates must be willing to float. Type of patients on the unit include post-surgical patients. Focus is on orthopedics and general surgery. Neuro populations are also included. EPIC experience is a bonus. There are opportunities for 36 or 48 hours per week. Weekend shifts may be required based on need. No on-call requirement is included. Floating to other locations is a potential. Nurse/patient ratio is 5:1 to 6:1, depending on staffing. The competent nurse practices independently. Demonstrates awareness of all relevant aspects of situations. Provides routine and complex care while working toward long-range goals. Continues to develop skills to cope with the contingencies of clinical nursing. Makes appropriate assignments and delegates to other care providers. Meets expectations of nursing competencies. Provides nursing care utilizing the nursing process. Includes assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for assigned patients. Addresses increasingly complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families. Utilizes appropriate protocols for administering medications and treatments. Monitors for side effects and effectiveness of prescribed treatment. Documents patient history, symptoms, medication, and care provided. Assesses learning needs and provides education to patients, family members, and/or caregivers. Identifies issues and resources to support patient care.
