Physician Assistant (PA) - Cardiothoracic Surgery (Locum)
Location: Silverdale, Washington (Onsite)
Work Type: Contract (Locum)
Positions: 1
Duration: 6-9 Months
Hours: Full-Time (1.0 FTE)
Shift Details
• Schedule: Monday - Friday + Call
• Call: 1-2 weekdays + weekends
• Night Call: 5:00 PM - 7:00 AM
• Start Date: ASAP (Post credentialing)
The Physician Assistant (PA) - Cardiothoracic Surgery will provide surgical and clinical support in a high-acuity hospital setting, assisting with complex cardiothoracic procedures and managing post-operative patients.
This role requires strong experience in cardiothoracic surgery (OR + ICU management) and the ability to work in a fast-paced surgical environment.
Key Responsibilities
Clinical & Surgical Care
• Assist in cardiothoracic surgeries (CABG, valve repair/replacement)
• Provide pre-operative and post-operative patient care
• Manage ICU and acute care patients
Procedures & Skills
• Perform and assist with open cardiothoracic procedures
• Support coronary artery bypass (on-pump)
• Assist with valvular repair and replacement
Patient Management
• Manage 5-10 hospital patients per day
• Handle ICU patient care and admissions
• Monitor and treat acute cardiac conditions
Team Collaboration
• Work with surgeons, physicians, and clinical teams
• Collaborate with RN navigators and support staff
• Coordinate patient care across departments
Documentation & Systems
• Maintain accurate patient records
• Utilize EPIC EMR system
• Ensure compliance with clinical and regulatory standards
Must-Have Qualifications
• Certified Physician Assistant (PA-C Required)
• Active Washington State License (Required)
• Experience in Cardiothoracic Surgery (OR + ICU)
• Strong experience with adult cardiac patients
• Clean malpractice and background (Highly Preferred)
