Job description

Job Title: Local Contract - Registered Nurse - Emergency Room Number of positions: 1 Years of experience: One to three years Shift: Evening shifts- 36 hours Duration: 13 weeks Start Date: 04/07/2024 Hourly pay: $42.59 OT: 1.5 Weekly Pay: $1,597.13 JOB DESCRIPTION Summary Department: Pulmonary Services Shift Timings: 19:00 - 07:30 Monday to friday (3 Days/12 Hours) Per Week: 36 Hours Roles & Responsibilities
  • Assess patient for appropriate type and frequency of treatment and develops a plan of care based on diagnosis.
  • Implement and monitor patient care plan and equipment.
  • Monitor, record and communicate patient condition.
  • Perform advanced respiratory care modalities.
  • Evaluate respiratory practice, administration of medications, and treatment based on patient outcome.
  • Educate the patient and family about the health condition and provides information about community support groups and other available programs.
  • Respond to emergency resuscitation team code.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Must have NICU experience
  • NPR Cert required
QUALIFICATIONS
  • BLS and ACLS
  • National Institutes of Health (NIH)
  • Sound knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology.
  • The ability to stand for extended periods.
  • Strong technical skills.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology
  • Passionate about patient care
  • Requires a minimum of two years of current Respiratory Therapist experience.
  • Graduate from a fully accredited Respiratory Therapy program
  • Active unencumbered and Respiratory Therapist Illinois state license
  • One year of Cerner experience
Requirements • COVID vaccine with 2 Shots & Booster. SKILLS/ ABILITIES/ COMPETENCIES REQUIRED:
  • Maintains and updates clinical knowledge and skills.
  • Participates in relevant continuing education programs.
  • Knowledge of and dedication to the highest patient care and provide the utmost service excellence to all patients.
  • Ability to take initiative and to exercise independent judgment, decision-making and problem-solving expertise.
  • A can-do, team oriented attitude is essential, as the ability to work independently and to interact easily with physicians, other managers and staff throughout the department and hospital.
  • Effective interpersonal/communication, organizational, and the flexibility to handle multiple tasks.
