Job Title: Pathologist

Description:
We are seeking a Pathologist for a hospital-based pathology lab.
The reason for coverage is a shortage of staff.
The coverage dates include several weeks during June, July, and October, as well as all of November and December.
There is no call schedule for this position.
The lab maintains CLIA and New York State certifications.
The locum provider will be responsible for grossing their own specimens and cutting their own frozen sections on the cryostat.
The team consists of four physicians, five histotechnologists, one pathology assistant, and two cytotechnologists.
Other pathologists will be present during the locum's coverage.
The equipment includes a ThinPrep integrated imager and various types of cryostats and microscopes.
A cytology proficiency exam for GYN cytology is required, and the method of preparation is ThinPrep.
The documentation system used is EPIC/Beaker.
The trauma level designation is Level 3.
Responsibilities will include general anatomic pathology, frozen section analysis, and cytology.
The current surgical pathology volume is approximately 13,000 surgical specimens and 3,000 cytology specimens per year.
