Maternal Fetal Medicine Physician (Locums)

Near Defiance, OH

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Maternal Fetal Medicine (MFM) physician for a locum tenens opportunity at our outpatient clinic located within a hospital near Defiance, Ohio. This is an excellent opportunity to provide specialized care to high-risk pregnant women while enjoying the flexibility of locum tenens work.

The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of maternal and fetal complications, exceptional diagnostic and clinical skills, and a patient-centered approach to care. You will be responsible for providing comprehensive MFM services, including specialized ultrasounds, genetic counseling, and management of high-risk pregnancies.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Conduct comprehensive patient evaluations and develop individualized care plans.
  • Perform a variety of specialized ultrasound procedures to assess fetal well-being and diagnose potential complications.
  • Provide genetic counseling to patients facing complex pregnancy decisions.
  • Manage high-risk pregnancies, including those with pre-eclampsia, gestational diabetes, multiple gestations, and fetal anomalies.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare providers, such as obstetricians, neonatologists, and pediatricians, to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Practice Details:
  • Outpatient clinic setting within a hospital environment.
  • Minimal after-hours call responsibilities.
  • Busy practice with an average of 40 ultrasounds and 5 consultations per day.
  • Flexibility to adjust patient schedules as needed.
  • Sole MFM physician in the practice during the locum tenens coverage period.
  • Onsite laboratory and ultrasound services available for your convenience.
  • Level III nursery on-site for advanced neonatal care.
  • Utilize the EPIC/AS Ultrasound Software for efficient documentation.
  • Located within a Level I trauma center.
Requirements:
  • Board Certification in Maternal Fetal Medicine.
  • Active or ability to obtain Ohio medical license.
  • Current BLS certification.
  • AIUM Ultrasound Certification.
  • Proven expertise in specialized ultrasounds, genetic counseling, and management of high-risk pregnancies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
