About you and this role:

Robust AI is a fast-growing, early-stage startup founded in 2019 by an unsurpassed team of veterans in robotics, AI and business. We are a collaborative group with a wide range of backgrounds and perspectives, seeking talented individuals who are just as excited about robotics and AI as we are! Help us redefine the very foundation of robotics and build robots that are smart, collaborative, robust, safe, flexible and genuinely autonomous.

As a manufacturing test engineer at Robust AI you will join a small fast-paced team working to design and deploy the next generation of warehouse robotic systems.  Working closely with both our team and our CM partner you will lead the design and development of manufacturing tests. You are someone who is excited about digging into component and system metrics. You are someone who is comfortable working in an early stage startup environment and are able to pivot effectively.  The base pay range for this role is between $150,000 and $200,000, dependent on your skills, qualifications and experience.
Main responsibilities:
  • Lead the specification, development, and validation of manufacturing tests
  • Drive test yield improvement and defect reduction through test coverage, data analysis and root cause investigation
  • Own test hardware and software from concept through production release and sustaining
  • Develop test documentation including test plans and procedures Interface with contract manufacturers and vendors to ensure test capability, scalability, and consistency
  • Communicate lessons learned to greater Hardware and partner engineering teams to improve the product and its manufacturability, quality, and reliability. 
What you'll bring to the table:
  • 7+ years of experience in manufacturing or production test engineering
  • Strong experience with test design and development
  • Proficiency in one or more programming/scripting languages (e.g., Python, C/C++, LabVIEW, TestStand)
  • Solid understanding of mechatronic systems
  • Experience with statistical analysis, yield monitoring, and SPC tools
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot complex hardware and software issues in a production environment CAD experience and fixture design
  • Test framework design and deployment
