Edenton, North Carolina Pediatric Physician Locum Tenens Opportunity

Rhino Medical is leading the charge seeking Board-Certified Pediatricians for a locum tenens assignment in Edenton, North Carolina. This outpatient role offers a balanced mix of clinic and call coverage within a community-based pediatric practice, supporting a small inpatient census and comprehensive outpatient services.

Opportunity Highlights

  • Pediatric physician locum tenens position
  • Outpatient clinic and call coverage
  • Average of 20 patients per day in the office
  • One inpatient admission per day; inpatient census typically one
  • Onsite lab and minor procedures available
  • EMR: EPIC
  • Provider will need to attend orientation and EHR training the day before the first shift

Schedule Details

  • Dates: August 10-14, August 17-21, August 24-28, August 31-September 1
  • Hours: 8:30 am – 5:00 pm
  • Days per week: 3 days during scheduled weeks
  • Call: One night per week; one weekend per month
  • Call shared with pediatrician, NP, and family medicine physician
  • No ICU or ER backup coverage required

Clinical Scope

  • Outpatient pediatric care including well-child exams, vaccines, and sick visits
  • Response to codes: No, unless in the nursery
  • Attend C-sections when requested by OB provider
  • Perform onsite lab testing, minor procedures such as suturing and ear irrigation, and POC testing for strep, flu, and RSV
  • Manage inpatient admissions and nursery care as needed

Practice Environment

  • Small community outpatient clinic with 6 exam rooms and onsite lab services
  • Support team includes 1 MD, 1 FNP, and 4 nurses/MAs
  • EMR: EPIC

Requirements

  • Active North Carolina medical license
  • MD degree
  • Board Certified in Pediatrics
  • BLS and PALS certifications

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in outpatient pediatric care
  • Comfortable with minor procedures and nursery attendance
