REGISTERED NURSE CLINICAL COORDINATOR - OPERATING ROOM - 40 HOURS - AFTERNOON SHIFT

Full Time Benefit Eligible

Shift: Afternoons

GENERAL SUMMARY:

Unit Description: 

Henry Ford St John Hospital's Operating Room is 19 room department that supports a variety of service lines, both inpatient and outpatient, including: General Surgery, Pediatrics, Transplant, Vascular, Plastics, Gynecology, Urology, ENT, Oral Maxillofacial, Robotics, Neurology, Orthopedics, Cardiology and Trauma.  Our staff rotates through all service line specialty areas, and typically participates in about 3-6 procedures per shift.

Clinical Coordinator - OR is responsible for the daily management of the OR schedule; daily staffing requirements; and activities of the control desk. Plans staffing assignments, makes room assignments, and coordinates daily schedule activity. Facilitates staff, patient, surgeon, anesthesia, and case movement to provide optimum service and patient care. Communicates with physicians to advise on case status and room availability, and serves as point person for communicating with other departments to facilitate daily operations.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: 

  • Graduate from an accredited school of nursing required
  • BSN preferred
  • 2 to 3 years of relevant acute care nursing experience required. 

  • Must have communication and problem solving skills and strong facilitative interpersonal skills. 

CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURES REQUIRED: 

  • Current licensure by the State of Michigan as a registered nurse required. 
  • ACLS preferred. 
  • Health care provider certification (BCLS) required.
