Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Inpatient Night Shift Operations Pharmacist to oversee the night shift operations of the inpatient pharmacy while providing comprehensive pharmaceutical care and medication management services. The pharmacist will coordinate daily workflow, maintain compliance standards, assign duties, and serve as a liaison between pharmacy staff and leadership.

This role includes direct patient care for pediatric, adolescent, adult, geriatric, oncology, and obstetric populations while supporting pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, pharmacy aides, and pharmacy billing staff.

Responsibilities
  • Manage night shift inpatient pharmacy operations.
  • Coordinate staffing, workflow, and daily assignments.
  • Ensure compliance with pharmacy regulations and organizational policies.
  • Provide clinical pharmacy services and medication management.
  • Review medication therapies and support patient safety initiatives.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams.
  • Provide technical and administrative guidance to pharmacy personnel.
  • Participate in holiday coverage as required.
Required Education
  • Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) from an ACPE-accredited school, OR
  • Bachelor of Pharmacy (BS Pharm) from an ACPE-accredited school.
Required Licensure & Certifications
  • Active, unrestricted Pharmacist license in any U.S. State, Territory, or District of Columbia.
  • Current BLS certification (AHA).
  • Current ACLS certification (AHA).
Experience Requirements

Pharmacist I

  • Minimum 1 year of inpatient pharmacy experience.
  • Knowledge of hospital, clinical, and pharmaceutical practices.

Pharmacist II

  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a Registered Pharmacist.
  • Board Certification in an ASHP-recognized specialty such as:
    • Cardiology Pharmacy
    • Compounded Sterile Preparations Pharmacy
    • Critical Care Pharmacy
    • Infectious Diseases Pharmacy
    • Pharmacotherapy
    • Emergency Medicine
Additional Requirements
  • Minimum 3 years of overall experience preferred.
  • Active state license required at the time of submission.
  • Holiday coverage required.
  • Experience with Allscripts EMR preferred.
  • Maximum one submission per candidate.
Additional Information
  • Orientation conducted every two weeks.
  • COVID and Flu exemptions may be considered upon submission of declination documentation.
  • Housing application must be submitted at least two weeks prior to start date.
