Summary:

Supports the mortgage and home equity lending process by assisting members, loan officers, and third-party vendors from application through closing and servicing. This position is responsible for processing loan documentation, maintaining accurate records, coordinating loan closings, ensuring regulatory compliance, and providing exceptional member service.

Duties And Responsibilities:
  • Answers member inquiries regarding mortgage, home equity, and HELOC products; schedules appointments; and assists members throughout the application and loan process.
  • Monitors online applications, follows up with members and loan officers, and gathers, reviews, verifies, and organizes required documentation to ensure complete and accurate loan files.
  • Maintains electronic and physical loan records by entering loan data, uploading documents, and ensuring information is accurate and current within loan origination and servicing systems.
  • Orders, tracks, and reviews appraisals, title work, flood determinations, verifications, and other third-party reports and documentation required for loan processing and closing.
  • Communicates with members, loan officers, underwriters, title companies, attorneys, and other vendors to facilitate timely processing, approval, and closing of mortgage and home equity loans.
  • Reviews loan files for completeness, clears conditions, and ensures compliance with credit union policies, investor requirements, and applicable regulations.
  • Coordinates loan closings, prepares and reviews closing documentation, disburses loan proceeds, completes and prepares Pre-Quality Control reviews and post-closing reviews on loan files for accuracy and completeness, and records or files documents with appropriate agencies and recording offices.
  • Processes loan payoffs, prepares mortgage satisfactions and releases, and maintains related documentation.
  • Maintains mortgage and HELOC servicing records, including escrow accounts, property taxes, insurance coverage, title policies, recorded mortgages, renewals, payoffs, and payment issue resolution.
  • Prepares and maintains monthly reports, interest rate surveys, pipeline reports, and management or Board reporting.
  • Remains current on applicable lending regulations, policies, procedures, and industry best practices to ensure compliance.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
  • This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Associate degree in Business, Finance, or related field preferred.
  • Two years of mortgage, home equity, consumer lending, loan processing, or related financial services experience preferred.
  • NMLS license preferred.
  • Knowledge of mortgage and home equity loan processing and servicing practices.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and customer service skills.
  • Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and loan origination/servicing systems.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and regulatory compliance.
