Job description

Summary

The position of the Loan Assistant supports Lenders throughout the lifecycle of commercial and agricultural loans including new requests, renewals, modifications, and ongoing relationship needs while coordinating across departments to ensure a seamless customer experience. This role works closely with loan officers, borrowers, and third-party partners to hep move loans efficiently from application through closing while delivering a high level of customer service. This position is Fully On-Site and requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Essential Duties

  • Assist loan officers with preparing loan packages by gathering and verifying borrower financial documentation.
  • Coordinate with Lenders to ensure loan requests are processed timely and accurately.
  • Order and track credit reports, appraisals, title commitments, and other loan related documents.
  • Review all due diligence documents on NEW clients to ensure information is complete and correct documentation is received to accurately complete all required loan documents.
  • Prepare loan request packets for Lenders/Portfolio Manager/Credit Analyst; enter required fields in LOS (nCino).
  • Monitor loan files, track status updates, and follow up on missing or incomplete information.
  • Tracks upcoming loan maturities and contacts clients to request financial information as needed.
  • Assists in clearing past due financials, post-closing exceptions, and trailing documents.
  • Coordinate with borrowers, real estate professionals, and settlement agents to support timely loan closings.
  • Answer incoming phone calls and emails, respond to customer inquiries, and route issues as needed.
  • Assist with request for loan advances and payments.
  • Maintain accurate loan records and ensure compliance with internal lending procedures.
  • Perform administrative tasks including filing, reporting, and document management as required.

The position of Loan Assistant performs duties specific to the position and other functions as assigned.

Supervisory Duties

The position of Loan Assistant is not responsible for the supervision of employee(s).

Minimum Requirements

These specifications are general guidelines based on the minimum experience normally considered essential to the satisfactory performance of this position. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required to perform the position in a satisfactory manner. Individual abilities may result in some deviation from these guidelines.

  • High school diploma or equivalent required, bachelor's degree preferred
  • Minimum of two years of experience in loan operations, mortgage lending, or a related financial services role.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills with high attention to detail.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and general computer applications.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in an on-site office environment.
  • Familiarity with loan origination systems and lending procedures is a plus.
  • Current drivers license and a vehicle with appropriate insurance coverage if required to drive in the course of performing assigned duties and responsibilities.
