POSITION:ย 

The Technical Trainer is responsible for delivering and facilitating high-impact training programs for manufacturing and electrical assembly employees, with a focus on new hire onboarding and ongoing workforce development. This role serves as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in technical training and works under guidance and in collaboration with the Technical Training Coordinator who oversees planning and administration of training programs.ย 

The Technical Trainer will lead hands-on Skills Lab training, ensuring employees gain the necessary competencies for their technician level and progress through the Kratos Skills Matrix. This includes teaching core workmanship, technical processes, and onboarding curriculum while maintaining compliance with safety and quality standards.ย

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:ย 


New Hire Training

  • Deliver structured new hire training for new hires, introducing Code Orange values, safety protocols, quality standards, and production processes.ย 
  • Facilitate hands-on Skills Lab onboarding modules to ensure employees build foundational workmanship skills before entering production.ย 
  • Support development of personalized new hire training plans, balancing learning with production demands.ย 
  • Partner with HR and Production Leads to ensure onboarding aligns with compliance, cultural integration, and role-specific readiness.ย 


Training Program Facilitation & Deliveryย 

  • Act as the primary facilitator for the Skills Lab and onboarding, providing structured hands-on instruction.ย 
  • Deliver technical training using instructor-led, simulation-based, role-playing, and hands-on methods.ย 
  • Ensure training aligns with industry best practices, company safety protocols, and operational standards.ย 
  • Deliver training tied to the Kratos Skills Matrix, ensuring employees progress across defined competency levels (Novice ? Expert).ย 
  • Collaborate with department leads, engineers, and production teams to ensure content reflects operational needs.ย 
  • Adapt approaches to different learning styles and skill levels.ย 
  • Provide coaching and mentorship to reinforce skills application in the workplace.ย 
  • Support integration of eLearning and blended learning modules in Litmos or other LMS platforms.ย 


Evaluation & Continuous Improvementย 

  • Assess trainee progress through hands-on demonstrations, written quizzes, and Skills Matrix evaluations.ย 
  • Document training completion and provide feedback to the Technical Training Coordinator.ย 
  • Gather feedback from learners and incorporate continuous improvement into course design and delivery.ย 


Collaboration & Cultureย 

  • Partner with the Technical Training Coordinator to align training programs with workforce development goals.ย 
  • Work closely with Production Leads, Engineers, and HR to ensure training supports manufacturing efficiency and safety.ย 
  • Coordinate with designated floor trainers to ensure consistency in training delivery, reinforce Skills Lab lessons on the production floor, and provide ongoing support for mentorship and coaching.ย 
  • Reinforce Kratos Code Orange values, fostering professionalism, accountability, and teamwork.ย 
  • Maintain a safety-first mindset, ensuring all training aligns with OSHA, UL, and company safety standards.ย 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience in Manufacturing, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering-or equivalent work experience.ย 
  • 2+ years of experience in Engineering, Production, or Technical Training.ย 
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.ย 
  • Demonstrated experience with LEAN/Continuous Improvement.ย 
  • Foundational knowledge of low-voltage power distribution and wiring practices.ย 
  • Strong technical writing and documentation skills.ย 
  • Ability to work effectively across diverse groups and roles.ย
