Live In Work information

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Live-in Care Worker, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Live-in Care Worker, you need a solid understanding of personal care, basic health and safety practices, and often a background in healthcare or social care. Familiarity with care management software, first aid certification, and adherence to safeguarding procedures are commonly required. Compassion, patience, and strong communication skills help build trust and rapport with clients and their families. These abilities are crucial for delivering consistent, person-centered support and ensuring the well-being and dignity of those in your care.

What are some common challenges faced by live-in workers, and how can they be managed effectively?

Live-in workers often face challenges related to maintaining a healthy work-life balance, as the boundaries between personal time and job responsibilities can blur when living at the place of employment. It’s important to establish clear expectations with employers regarding work hours, time off, and privacy. Regular communication and setting mutually agreed-upon routines can help prevent burnout and ensure both parties understand each other's needs. Many live-in roles also require adaptability and strong interpersonal skills, as workers may need to adjust to the household's routines and preferences.

What are live-in work jobs?

Live-in work jobs are positions where employees reside at their place of employment, often receiving accommodation as part of their compensation. These roles can include caregiving, nannying, housekeeping, or working at remote lodges or farms. Live-in jobs typically involve flexible or extended hours and may offer meals or utilities in addition to a salary. They are ideal for people seeking immersive work environments or who require housing as part of their employment arrangement.

Description

Camp is calling. This isn't just a summer job-it's a ministry.

Use your musical gifts to lead worship, build relationships, and help create meaningful faith experiences for campers all summer long.

As part of the Worship Team at Camp Timber-lee, you'll help lead chapel worship, work alongside ministry staff, and create engaging environments where campers can grow in their faith and confidence.

If you're passionate about worship, music, and making an impact beyond the stage, this is an opportunity to use your gifts in a way that truly matters.

What You'll Do:
  •  Help lead daily worship for campers and staff
  • Perform vocals and/or instruments during chapel and camp programming
  • Collaborate with ministry staff to create engaging worship experiences
  • Assist with worship set preparation and music coordination
  • Help maintain music equipment and worship spaces
  • Build relationships with campers and encourage spiritual growth
  • Support camper arrival/departure activities on weekends
  • Flex into other camp support roles as needed

 What You Get:

  • $7.25 per hour + housing and meals included
  • Live on-site with a built-in summer community
  • Leadership and ministry experience that stands out on a resume
  • Opportunities to grow spiritually, personally, and professionally
  • A summer focused on purpose, mentorship, and impact

Requirements

What We're Looking For:

  • A professing Christian with a personal faith
  • Comfortable leading worship, prayer, and gospel-centered conversations
  • Musical ability in vocals and/or instruments such as:
    • Acoustic guitar
    • Electric guitar
    • Bass
    • Keyboard
    • Percussion
  • Positive attitude and team-first mindset
  • Interest in mentoring and working with youth
  • Ability to adapt and support various camp activities as needed

Summer Schedule

Staff Training: May 31 - June 13
Camp Sessions: June 14 - August 8

Important Role Details

  • This is a live-in, residential summer camp role
  • Candidates must be at least 18 years old by hire date
  • Position requires active participation in a Christian ministry environment
  • Offers are contingent upon successful background and reference checks

Why This Role Matters

This is more than performing music.

Worship Team members help create moments that campers remember long after summer ends. Through music, mentorship, and authentic faith, you'll help point campers toward something bigger than themselves while growing in your own leadership and walk with Christ.
