Position Overview

Work Environment

This remote position is designed to allow therapists to effectively engage with clients in a flexible manner while continuing to uphold the high standards of therapeutic practices. Our clinic functions as a virtual outpatient psychiatry office, facilitating access to mental health resources for patients who live across a wide geographic area. Although much of the work is conducted remotely, team collaboration is encouraged through regular virtual meetings, case discussions, and cultural competency training sessions.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments that take into account the unique cultural and personal experiences of each patient.
• Design and implement tailored treatment plans based on evidence-based therapeutic interventions.
• Facilitate individual, family, and group therapy sessions aimed at fostering emotional resilience and addressing various mental health concerns.
• Collaborate closely with psychiatrists, psychologists, and community resources to provide coordinated care.
• Provide crisis intervention and immediate support for patients facing mental health emergencies.
• Educate patients and their families on mental health conditions, available therapeutic options, and community support resources.
• Maintain meticulous and confidential documentation in compliance with ethical and legal standards.
• Actively participate in team meetings, sharing insights from individual therapy sessions and engaging in discussions on cultural competency practices.
• Stay updated on current research and best practices in mental health therapy to enhance the care provided to patients.

Qualifications

• A Master’s or doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
• A current and valid license as an LMFT, LPC, or LCSW to practice in Texas.
• A thorough understanding of mental health disorders, evidence-based treatment modalities, and the principles of cultural competence in therapeutic settings.
• Demonstrated experience in delivering both individual and group therapy using inclusive approaches that respect cultural differences.
• Strong crisis intervention skills, with the capability to maintain composure and effectiveness during high-stress situations.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills conducive to building relationships with a diverse array of individuals and families.
• Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems and standard office software applications.
• A commitment to uphold professional boundaries and to adhere strictly to ethical guidelines and confidentiality standards.
• A proven ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team and to contribute meaningfully to team initiatives.

Preferred Experience

• At least 2 years of post-graduate experience in mental health counseling, preferably in a community health or outpatient setting.
• Experience working with culturally diverse populations, with a proven ability to provide culturally responsive therapy.
• Hands-on experience with crisis management and emergency intervention strategies.

Compensation and Benefits
