Live In Relocation Counselor information

What is a Live In Relocation Counselor?

A Live In Relocation Counselor is a professional who assists individuals or families during the process of relocating, often by living on-site temporarily to provide hands-on support. Their responsibilities typically include helping with housing arrangements, navigating local services, cultural adaptation, and emotional support during the transition. This role is especially valuable for international moves or when clients require intensive, personalized assistance to settle into a new environment. Live In Relocation Counselors act as guides, advocates, and problem-solvers to make the relocation process as smooth as possible.

What jobs pay 2000 a day?

In the context of a Live In Relocation Counselor, such high daily earnings are uncommon, as this role typically offers a salary or hourly wage rather than large daily sums. Generally, jobs that can pay $2,000 a day include specialized consulting, high-level executive positions, certain freelance or contract roles in finance or law, and some entrepreneurial ventures, often requiring extensive experience, certifications, or a strong client base.

What is the difference between Live In Relocation Counselor vs Relocation Coordinator?

CredentialsHigh school diploma or equivalent; customer service experienceHigh school diploma or equivalent; organizational skills
Work EnvironmentClient homes, real estate offices, or remoteCorporate offices, client sites, or remote
Industry UsageReal estate, corporate relocation servicesReal estate, corporate HR departments
Primary FocusProviding personalized relocation advice and support to clientsCoordinating logistics and managing relocation processes

While both roles support relocation services, the Live In Relocation Counselor focuses on client counseling and personalized support, often working directly with clients in their homes or remotely. The Relocation Coordinator handles logistical planning and coordination, ensuring smooth move processes. Both roles are essential in the relocation industry but serve different functions based on client interaction and logistical management.

What are some common challenges faced by Live In Relocation Counselors and how can they be addressed?

Live In Relocation Counselors often navigate the complexities of helping clients adjust to new environments, which can include managing cultural differences, homesickness, and logistical hurdles such as housing and school placement. Building trust quickly is essential, as clients rely on the counselor for both emotional support and practical guidance. Effective communication, adaptability, and strong organizational skills help counselors address these challenges. Regular check-ins, resourceful problem-solving, and fostering community connections can significantly ease the transition for clients.

What states will pay you to relocate there?

Some states and local programs offer financial incentives or relocation assistance for certain jobs, including roles like Live In Relocation Counselors, especially in areas with workforce shortages or economic development initiatives. These programs vary by location and may require specific qualifications or commitments, so researching state and local government resources can provide detailed information on available incentives.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Live In Relocation Counselor, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Live In Relocation Counselor, you generally need experience in relocation services, strong organizational abilities, and often a background in hospitality or social work. Familiarity with relocation management software, customer relationship management (CRM) systems, and, in some cases, certification from organizations like the Worldwide ERC is typical. Outstanding interpersonal skills, cultural sensitivity, and problem-solving abilities help set candidates apart in this role. These skills ensure smooth transitions for clients, foster trust, and address the complex logistical and emotional challenges involved in relocation.

What jobs make 10,000 a month without a degree?

A Live In Relocation Counselor typically does not earn $10,000 a month without specialized experience or certifications. High-paying jobs that can reach this level without a degree often include roles in sales, real estate, entrepreneurship, or skilled trades like plumbing or electrical work, which rely on experience, skills, and licensing rather than formal education.

What is the 3 month rule for jobs?

The 3 month rule for a Live In Relocation Counselor typically refers to a probation or trial period of three months, during which an employee's performance and fit for the role are evaluated before permanent employment is confirmed. This period allows employers to assess skills, adaptability, and reliability, often involving regular check-ins and performance reviews.

Job description

ABOUT THE ROLE:

Looking for a fun, fast-paced summer job where you can make a real impact? The New York Film Academy’s Summer Camp in LA is hiring Camp Counselors to mentor and supervise teen storytellers ages 14–17. You’ll live in the hotel with the students, lead them around the city, plan awesome activities, and help create a safe, creative, and memorable camp experience. It’s part camp counselor, part city guide, and part resident mentor—all rolled into one unforgettable summer.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

The following is a general list. The day-to-day duties required of this position may vary.

• Be a positive role model and support system for campers

• Lead student groups to classes and activities via transportation and on foot

• Help prep the dorms: decorate, stock supplies, and welcome new arrivals

• Run weekly student check-ins/checkouts

• Plan and lead evening and weekend activities and events

• Enforce NYFA rules, curfew, and perform nightly room checks

• Do dorm rounds and health & safety inspections

• Participate in on-call duty rotation

• Spend time at the school during class hours to help students with non-academic aspects of their day

• Attend daily team meetings and assist with administrative tasks as needed

• Additional tasks and shifts as deemed necessary by Supervisor

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR:

• Interested in mentoring youth and fostering their creative growth.

• Experience working with teens in a camp, school, or similar setting

• Great communication, leadership, and people skills

• Cool under pressure—able to think on your feet and adapt quickly

• Team player who’s energetic, reliable, and professional

• Familiarity with LA

• Comfortable walking/standing for long periods and lifting up to 30 lbs

• Able to take feedback and maintain a high level of professionalism

• Familiarity with Google Suite or spreadsheets (XLS) preferred

• Valid Driver’s License

• Background in film, acting, or the arts is a plus

COMMITMENT:

• Must be available full-time from June 24 – August 8, 2026

• Live-in, hotel housing provided

• One WEEKDAY off per week; weekends required

• No vacation or leave during program dates; schedule conflicts must be disclosed in advance

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

• Prior experience working with kids or teens strongly preferred

• Background in visual or performing arts a plus

• Bachelor’s degree or in progress

• Must be organized, dependable, and a strong communicator
