Job description

Experienced Live-in Caregiver / CA Personal Attendant- Top Pay.
About Us:
Grandma Joan is the nation's top household employer recruiter service that specializes in 24/7 live-in caregivers. We do nothing else. No hourly jobs, no 12-hour shifts, only full-time live-ins. Since 2010 families have paid us to find, screen, vet, and staff their household live-in care positions with experienced live-ins, across the USA.

  • Live-in caregivers love our clients - who have one of the highest retention rates in the nation.
  • Our average client employs their live-in for >1 year, and some for 5+ years.
The Position: Long-term LIVE-IN
  • Care location: Walnut Grove (Sacramento Area) CA
  • Care recipient: Woman
  • Care needs: ADLs and IADLs
  • Mobility: Walker
  • Non-care needs: IADLs, medication reminders, meal prep, companionship, driving, pet-care (dog) etc..
  • Schedule: Six day live-in. Possible week off every 6 months for vacation/respite.
The Requirements:
  • Must have already had at least two verifiable live-in care jobs, with one lasting 6 months or longer
  • Must have strong recommendations from at least 2+ previous home care clients, with at least one being from a live-in position that lasted more than 6 months.
  • Be an easy-to-understand, great communicator.
  • Be dog-friendly
  • Have a valid driver's license and be willing to drive the client around in their car.
  • Have a minimum of 5 years of verifiable ADL experience for a paying employer
  • Be a self-motivated problem-solver by nature. Someone who requires little to no supervision to handle most new problems, excluding emergencies.
  • Be US-based, and if you are not a US citizen, you will need proof of work authorization if hired.
  • Pass a background and drug test if hired.
  • Be interested in a long-term, full-time, live-in position with one household.
  • The Benefits:
  • $135,000-$145,000 per year depending on hours worked.
  • Rent-free furnished bedroom and bathroom in her first floor condo.

The Location:
Interviews are by Zoom video. The employer will contribute towards your transportation to their location if you get the job.
Process:
1. Fill out an application. You will move on to the next stage if you meet the job requirements.
2. Pass an 8-question phone screening interview with us.
3. Submit 2+ live-in care references that we can verify. If your live-in references are both very strong, you will move on to the next stage.
4. Have a Zoom interview with the family's recruiter. They are working to find the top 3 candidates for our client to interview.
5. Directly interview the family via Zoom. This is your time to shine and to ask questions about their specific needs and desired live-in schedule.
6. If they choose you, you will get a written job offer to consider. If you accept, you will need to move in with them by the start date (usually 2 weeks after being hired)
We do not employ or co-employ any live-in. We are 3rd party recruiters that specialize in fulfilling long-term live-in positions with families. The family is the employer and pays you directly through a payroll service. All pay is on the books as a W2 employee. You negotiate all terms/schedules/duties/pay with the family, not us.
