Job description

Overview

Assists in performing custodial and various farm duties in an indoor and outdoor setting, as assigned by the supervisor.

Responsibilities

Primary duties and responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Assists in moving supplies and equipment as needed.
  • Notifies supervisor of problems/difficulties in performing job duties.
  • Monitors inventory of supplies and notifies team leader when the need for replenishment arises.
  • Cleaning out pens/paddocks and facilities.
  • Feeding and caring for livestock (goats, sheep, pig, horses, chickens, ducks, etc.) and small animals.
  • Moving and refilling feed, hay, and other supplies and materials.
  • Helping with the maintenance of farm structures and equipment.
  • Assisting with general property maintenance - pruning plants, snow removal, moving compost, etc.
  • Tending gardens on property - planting, weeding, harvesting, spreading mulch, watering, etc.
  • Notifies team leader if equipment is not working properly.
  • Performs additional related duties as requested by supervisor.
  • Operation of equipment and machinery, as required.
Qualifications
  • High School diploma and NYS Driver's License required.
  • Ability to perform medium to heavy manual labor, with ability to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Ability to understand instructions given by supervisor.ย 
  • Flexible; able to accept changes in job duties.ย 

Physical aspects may include but are not limited to lifting up to 50lbs.
