Job description

The Utah National Guard is seeking to hire two General Maintenance Workers for Camp Williams.
Job Description
In this position, you will be performing general maintenance activities of buildings and/or grounds.  You will be assigned to do maintenance and repair of specialized equipment.


Your specific duties will include the following:

  • Repair and/or perform preventative maintenance on equipment, or machinery, etc.
  • Paint, finish and refinish wood, metal and other materials.
  • Use and operate a variety of hand tools, electrical, mechanical, and automotive equipment.
  • Mow, rake, water and fertilize lawn; plant, transplant, water, fertilize, and trim flowers and shrubs; control weeds; maintain and clean grounds, parking areas, etc.; remove ice and snow etc.
  • Maintain roadways including vegetation, weed control, drainage, sign and structure maintenance, litter pick-up, repairing fences and guardrails, yard and driveway cleaning, etc.
  • Detect and eliminate or minimizes safety hazards.
  • Build, fabricate, or repair structures, equipment, and/or miscellaneous articles from verbal instructions, blueprints and/or working drawings.
  • Troubleshoots and diagnoses maintenance problems and  make appropriate adjustments.
