Job Summary:
Working with the internal legal team, this position will support litigation and claims management on a global basis. Duties will include supporting process improvements, maintaining records, conducting research, and coordinating communications. The position will also help manage internal investigation processes, employment-related policies, labor and employment claims, communications with outside counsel representing the company, and insurance and risk management reporting and administration in relation to litigation and employment matters. The position will support audit and other internal processes in connection with litigation tracking/reporting.
Responsibilities
  • Under the supervision of the Company's attorneys, prepares, investigates and conducts research for new and ongoing litigation matters.
  • Prepares verbal and written reports to assist attorneys in determining how cases should be processed including analysis of, and recommendations for disposition of, litigation and claims.
  • Prepares draft legal documents, pleadings and memoranda.
  • Supports legal hold notice process and maintains records.
  • Provides timely assistance to outside counsel as requested, particularly with respect to assembling witnesses and collecting documents.
  • Responds to subpoenas and requests for information, as requested by Company's attorneys.
  • Manages deadlines and the case/matter calendar.
  • Coordinates court appearances, depositions, meetings, etc., between employees and internal and outside counsel.
  • Assists with preparation of Company periodic litigation reports.
  • Provides guidance and instruction to others on handling U.S.-based claims, complaints, and policy application.
  • Supports or drives projects relating to process or policy improvements.

Travel: 5% per year
Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Minimum of 3+ years' experience in an in-house or law firm litigation environment. 5+ years' experience preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree highly preferred.
  • Requires paralegal certification, law office experience and/or in-house litigation management experience.
  • Strong independent analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Excellent research and writing skills, with demonstrated experience in preparing and reviewing legal documents, including pleadings, discovery, motions, settlement agreements, and correspondence.
  • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects with minimal direction.
  • Capable of working both independently and in a team environment.
  • Experience in successfully managing litigation/claim dockets and calendars and demonstrated ability to consistently meet deadlines.
  • Experience in supporting electronic discovery processes and working with e-discovery vendors.
  • Experience in gathering and organizing information and evidence, preparation of responses to discovery demands and other information requests.
  • Top notch communication skills (including in person, telephone, email, and correspondence) and ability to provide prompt and responsive customer service to wide range of internal clients.
  • Extensive experience and advanced skills using Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
  • Requires a positive attitude, willingness to learn, and proactive problem-solving approach to challenging situations.
  • Must have a firm understanding of, and strict adherence to, confidentiality and privilege considerations, professional discretion, and sound judgment.
  • Commitment to ethical conduct, professionalism and collegiality.

For U.S. locations that require disclosure of compensation, the starting base pay for this role is between $85,000.00 and $110,000.00 per year and may include cost of living adjustments. The actual base pay includes many factors and is subject to change and modification in the future. This position may also be eligible for other types of compensation and benefits.
