Dinsmore is seeking a Project Assistant at our Miami, FL location. The Project Assistant will be joining the Litigation Department and will be responsible for the successful organization, tracking and maintenance of various projects within the department with a focus on billing and subpoena processing.
Responsibilities
  • Receive and process subpoena requests from attorneys or court officials
  • Prepare, track and manage subpoenas
  • Coordinate with process servers or law enforcement officers responsible for serving subpoenas
  • Assist attorneys and secretaries with billing inquiries
  • Address internal and external inquires in connection with billed and unbilled totals, payment status and matter history
  • Process narrative edits and time and cost adjustments on invoices
  • Assist the department with various projects, hand deliveries, and miscellaneous requests
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements
  • Two years of administrative experience preferred
  • Prior experience with the subpoena preparation process, preferred
  • Knowledge of federal and state rules of civil procedure preferred
  • Working knowledge of accounting functions preferred
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Ability to maintain and manage databases and create reports
  • Highly developed communication skills
  • Self-starter and comfortable working in a fast-paced team/collaborative environment to problem-solve and implement process improvements
  • Flexible and adaptive to a dynamic work environment
