Heil Law Firm has made a name for itself as a leading personal injury law firm in Texas, with a focus on the communities of Corpus Christi and Houston. We are deeply committed to battling for justice while giving back to our community. Under the dedicated leadership of Robert J. Heil, our firm is renowned for helping individuals recover after traumatic accidents, including car and truck collisions, and slip-and-fall incidents.

Our mission extends beyond mere legal victories; we aim to ensure that our clients receive the maximum financial recovery while fostering community well-being. Each win is a victory for the Coastal Bend, as we reinvest in the community we serve. The Heil Law Firm prides itself on integrity, compassion, and a relentless pursuit of justice, creating lasting impacts both inside and outside the courtroom.

The Pre-Litigation Manager is a critical leadership role responsible for optimizing Houston pre-litigation operations by stepping in immediately to take full ownership of team performance, case progression, and operational accountability. This is not a training role, but one that requires a confident leader capable of managing and influencing a highly experienced team, many with over a decade of tenure. By establishing authority, driving accountability, and removing leadership bottlenecks, this individual will transform the team into a cohesive, high-performing unit and enable firm leadership to focus on growth while ensuring efficient, high-quality outcomes for clients.

What you'll do:

  • Team Leadership & Accountability: Establish authority and lead a seasoned team through huddles, one-on-ones, and coaching sessions, while setting clear expectations, enforcing accountability, and addressing underperformance when necessary.
  • Case Strategy & Demand Oversight: Review demands prior to submission, provide strategic input, and ensure consistency, quality, and value alignment across all cases while acting as the final checkpoint for pre-litigation work.
  • Case Movement & KPI Ownership: Monitor case progression across all phases, track and enforce KPIs such as phase duration, case progression, and resolution timelines, and proactively identify and resolve bottlenecks to keep cases moving forward.
  • Performance Management: Set clear expectations, track individual and team performance metrics, hold team members accountable to outcomes, and foster a results-driven, high-performance culture.
  • Training & Process Improvement: Identify workflow inefficiencies, implement process improvements and training initiatives, and align team operations with firm systems and best practices.

What we're looking for:

  • Extensive Experience: 10+ years of personal injury experience with a strong focus on pre-litigation, including leadership responsibilities rather than solely managing an individual caseload.
  • Technical Proficiency: Expertise with Filevine is required for tracking performance, reporting, and managing case workflows effectively.
  • Leadership Skills: Proven experience managing and mentoring senior staff, with the ability to confidently address performance issues and hold team members accountable to outcomes.
  • Strategic Insight: Ability to identify bottlenecks, design and implement effective solutions, and balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution in a fast-paced environment.
  • Core Traits: Demonstrates assertive and confident leadership, a proactive and solution-oriented mindset, comfort navigating conflict, and the ability to hold experienced team members accountable while driving measurable outcomes.

Why you should work here:

  • Impactful Role: Join a firm where your leadership directly contributes to community well-being and client justice.
  • Growth Opportunity: Experience a high level of autonomy and the ability to build systems and drive outcomes in a rapidly scaling firm.
  • Collaborative Environment: Work directly with leadership and collaborate with peers who value a data-driven culture.
  • Culture of Excellence: Be part of a team that values innovation, proactivity, and accountability in the pursuit of justice.

Additional perks:

  • Competitive Compensation: Compensation is competitive and commensurate with experience and qualifications.
  • Bonus: Performance-based bonus opportunities
  • Benefits: Additional benefits may be available and will be discussed during the hiring process.
  • Professional Development: Opportunities for career growth and skill enhancement within the firm.

Join Heil Law Firm as a Pre-Litigation Manager to play a crucial role in leading our efforts and shaping the future of personal injury law in Houston. Your expertise will help propel our team to new heights, ensuring that justice is served efficiently and effectively. We invite driven and experienced leaders to apply and become part of a firm that prioritizes community and client success. Apply today to make an impact that extends beyond the courtroom.
