Intellectual Property Litigation Associate Attorney

Direct Counsel is seeking an IP Litigation Associate Attorney to join a highly regarded Am Law 100 firm in Washington, D.C., Los Angeles, California, or San Francisco, California.

This is an exceptional opportunity for an attorney with 3–5 years of intellectual property litigation experience to join a nationally recognized IP Litigation practice representing clients in complex patent and technology disputes across a wide range of industries.

Key Responsibilities
  • Represent clients in all phases of intellectual property litigation in federal courts and other tribunals.

  • Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and other litigation filings.

  • Conduct legal research, manage discovery, prepare witnesses, and participate in depositions.

  • Assist with claim construction, expert discovery, dispositive motions, trial preparation, and appeals.

  • Work closely with clients to develop litigation strategy in complex patent and technology disputes.

  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on matters involving cutting-edge technologies and intellectual property issues.

Qualifications
  • J.D. from an accredited law school with excellent academic credentials.

  • Active Bar membership in good standing.

  • 3–5 years of intellectual property litigation experience.

  • Strong litigation, research, drafting, and oral advocacy skills.

  • Technical background is strongly preferred.

  • Undergraduate degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a closely related technical discipline is preferred.

  • Excellent written, verbal, analytical, and interpersonal communication abilities.
