Compensation:

$65,000 - $95,000 yearly


Responsibilities:
  • Represent employees in claims involving discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wrongful termination, FMLA interference, wage and overtime violations, and other workplace disputes.
  • Meet with clients to understand their facts, evaluate potential claims, and explain the legal process in a clear and practical way.
  • Draft and prepare EEOC charges, state agency charges, notice letters, demand letters, pleadings, discovery, and other litigation documents.
  • Develop a case strategy with supervising attorneys and team members.
  • Communicate with clients regularly and keep cases moving forward efficiently.
  • Work with EEOC and state agency investigators to provide evidence, respond to inquiries, and advocate for clients during the administrative process.
  • Participate in settlement negotiations, mediations, and other efforts to resolve cases.
  • Assist with litigation tasks, including discovery, motion practice, deposition preparation, and case analysis.
  • Coordinate with paralegals, intake staff, managers, and attorneys to ensure strong client service and organized case management.
  • Build the litigation, negotiation, and advocacy skills needed to grow as an employee rights attorney.

Qualifications:
  • Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school.
  • Licensed to practice law in Ohio, awaiting Ohio bar results, or eligible for prompt admission.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to listen carefully, show empathy, and build trust with clients facing difficult workplace issues.
  • Excellent organization, time management, and follow-through.
  • Sound judgment and the ability to evaluate facts, risks, and case strategy.
  • Interest in employment law, civil rights, litigation, or employee advocacy.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Willingness to learn litigation skills, including client counseling, negotiation, discovery, depositions, and motion practice.
  • Employment law experience is helpful, but not required.
