Job Title: Database Applications Administrator (IT Applications & Support)

The Education Fund is a non-profit partnership between six locals of the Service Employees International Union (SEIU) and 22 Healthcare Industry employers, serving the education and training needs of 120,000 eligible workers. Our mission is to empower our diverse healthcare workforce to advance in a changing environment through innovative education and training solutions. Our programs provide career advancement and continuing education services to over 20,000 learners annually.

Principal Purpose of Job: The Education Fund seeks a Database Applications Administrator (IT Applications & Support) to support our users in our Salesforce orgs as well as administer and expand our use of SharePoint application. This role will also be the primary liaison with our IT Support Services vendor(s). This role ensures that our users have access and the ability to use our systems while also ensuring that the applications are reliable, secure, and meet organizational needs for data integrity and collaboration.

The successful candidate will work closely with our external users, internal users and database administrators to support and advance The Education Fundโ€™s mission to accelerate the careers of over 120,000 SEIU eligible Healthcare Workers through innovative education and training solutions.

Level of Authority: Works independently within the scope and direction of the Director of Enterprise Applications and per organizational policies and procedures. Supports programs and services that contribute to the Education Fundโ€™s success.

Work Environment: Works in a fast-paced office setting with frequent interruptions and many demands on time. Travel required.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities
  • Support internal and external users in Salesforce organizations. (400 to 500 Tickets)
  • Update usersโ€™ data by performing quality control, remediation, and validation to ensure accuracy.
  • Import/export data as needed to support users and database administrators.
  • Troubleshoot data/system issues and resolve user queries in a timely manner.
  • Communicate new features, updates and best practices to users.
  • Provide user training and update system documentation as needed.
  • Collaborate with DBA team members on special projects and platform improvements.
  • Design, configure, and maintain SharePoint sites, landing pages, subsites, libraries, lists, workflows, and permission structures.
  • Manage site provisioning, consistent branding, templates and content migrations (ShareGate, Metalogix, or Microsoft native tools).
  • Support users, address SharePoint tickets, troubleshoot issues, manage performance, and perform root cause analysis.
  • Maintain governance documentation, policies and user guides.
  • Manage SharePoint permissions and file sharing access.
  • Support integrations with Microsoft 365 tools (Teams, OneDrive, Outlook) and Power Platform (Power Automate, Power Apps).
  • Manage and support library setup, including columns, tags, metadata, views, archiving and new library creation based on department or library needs.
  • Provide oversight of libraries to ensure teams follow governance and document management system setup standards.
  • Oversee overall file usage, storage, and communication of storage capacity limits.
  • Serve as the primary liaison and the point of contact between the Ed Fund and the external IT help desk vendor, coordinating dayโ€‘toโ€‘day support needs and facilitating effective communication between Ed Fund and the vendor.
  • Monitor help desk tickets and service delivery, including response and resolution times, outstanding issues, recurring problems, and escalations, to ensure timely and effective support for staff.
  • Coordinate and escalate complex, urgent and unresolved IT issues with the vendor and internal stakeholders and management, following through the resolution and communicating appropriate status updates to affected users.
  • Monitor vendor performance and service quality against established service expectations and service level agreements (SLAs), identify trends or areas for improvement, and raise performance concerns with management and the vendor as appropriate.
  • Partner with the IT help desk vendor on user access, equipment and system support, technology changes, special projects, and other ITโ€‘related activities, ensuring requests are completed accurately and on schedule.
  • Partner with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into functional solutions.
  • Ensure compliance with data retention, security standards and access controls.
  • Support crossโ€‘functional projects involving database, SharePoint and M365 integration.
  • Participate in platform upgrades, patching, and system transitions with IT and vendor partners.
Qualifications
  • BA/BS or higher education
  • 3 or more years of experience in SharePoint config and administration (including SharePoint Online).
  • 1โ€“2 years Salesforce administration experience.
  • 3+ years of Internal and external user support in Salesforce and SharePoint.
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fastโ€‘paced environment.
  • Excellent verbal, written, presentation, and communication skills; a persuasive and passionate communicator with excellent public speaking skills.
  • All candidates will undergo preโ€‘employment requirements, including a criminal background check and education verification.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Salesforce Administrator certification
  • Microsoft certifications (MS-700, MS-600, or related M365/SharePoint certs).
  • Experience with content migration tools (ShareGate, Metalogix, Mover.io) and data remediation.
  • ETL (Matillion), data warehouse (Snowflake), and reporting tool (Power BI) experience.
  • Familiarity with PowerShell scripting and workflow automation (Power Automate preferred).
  • Knowledge of Active Directory/Azure AD.
  • Experience in nonโ€‘profit or labor/management partnership environments.
Physical Demands
  • Ability to sit at a workstation for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to stand, work, and to drive from one location to another.
  • Hybrid or remote work environment with occasional onโ€‘site visits.
  • May require afterโ€‘hours support during migrations, outages, or critical projects.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 25lbs.
