Job Description:
Haider Engineering P.C., a rapidly expanding REI firm, needs Rail Coordinator Inspector / Liaison to support an MTA Metro-North Railroad project.
NOTE: Job location field is a placeholder, the project location is in New York City, NY.
Job Responsibilities:
  • Perform field inspections of rail infrastructure (track, signals, ROW) to ensure compliance with MTA and FRA standards
  • Monitor contractor work for quality, safety, and adherence to plans/specifications
  • Serve as the liaison between MTA/MNR, contractors, and engineers
  • Coordinate track access, outages, and work windows with rail operations
  • Track project progress, schedules, and field activities
  • Prepare daily reports, inspection logs, and issue tracking
  • Identify risks, resolve field issues, and coordinate corrective actions
  • Enforce safety procedures and participate in briefings and incident reviews
Qualifications:
  • 3+ years of experience in rail construction, inspection, or maintenance
    Experience working with MTA, Metro-North, LIRR, or similar rail systems preferred
  • Strong knowledge of rail systems, construction practices, and FRA regulations
  • Ability to read plans, coordinate stakeholders, and manage field activities
  • Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
