Job title: MTA Safety Manager

Location: Floral Park, Long Island, NY.

Pay Rate: $60 - $65/hour

About the Role: We are seeking an MTA Safety Manager (Responsible for overseeing overall site safety for MTA/LIRR station construction projects, ensuring compliance with LIRR Track Safety, NYC DOB, OSHA, and project-specific safety requirements)
Role & Responsibilities:?

  • Manage overall site safety operations for MTA/LIRR station construction projects, ensuring compliance with MTA, LIRR, NYC DOB, and OSHA requirements.
  • Serve as the Head of Safety, overseeing contractors, subcontractors, and field personnel and enforcing project-specific safety plans and procedures.
  • Conduct daily site inspections and safety audits to identify hazards and ensure corrective actions are implemented promptly.
  • Ensure LIRR Track Safety compliance for work performed on or near active railroad tracks, coordinating safe work activities with LIRR personnel.
  • Lead safety training, toolbox talks, incident investigations, and emergency response activities while maintaining required safety documentation and records.

 

Skills, Education, and Experience:

  • Demonstrated safety experience
  • Experience as the head of safety on at least one (1) transit, commuter rail, or design-build project.
  • Track Safety Trained for LIRR.
  • Successful completion of the 40-hour NYC Department of Buildings Site Safety Manager Course.
  • Successful completion of the 30-hour OSHA Construction Safety and Health (29 C.F.R. §1926) Course.
