Job Summary:
Raytheon has an exciting IT position available that supports the Raytheon mission of making the world a safer place.  We are currently seeking a Principal Systems Administrator, based in McKinney, TX will be working onsite in a highly collaborative, multi-platform and multi–disciplined environment. The Systems Administrator is required to have an active secret security clearance as they will be responsible for deploying and maintaining classified IT infrastructures.  The candidate’s day-to-day activities include but are not limited to: RedHat Linux server management; storage management; file server management; access management; data backup; software and license configuration; and workstation support.  Each day in the life of a Systems Administrator can bring something new – building a new IT infrastructure for a group of engineers, strategizing disaster recovery, updating virus definitions and security patches, teaming with our brilliant engineers on how to improve their processes, and more.
Responsibilities to Anticipate:

  • You will provide System Administration in a heterogeneous Windows & RedHat Enterprise Linux environment.
  • Advanced understanding and knowledge of Windows infrastructure services and Linux distributions to include DNS, File sharing protocols, DHCP, AD integration via LDAP, file system structures and permissions.
  • Working as a team member in a fast-paced technological environment.  Use troubleshooting techniques to resolve technical problems of a moderate to high scope and complexity to include the integration of hardware and operating systems (OS).
  • Data backup uses and technologies.
  • Install and configure software applications requested by end users.
  • Work with Cybersecurity professionals to maintain security requirements.
  • Department of Defense Directive (DoDD) 8140 / 8570 Certification requirements (CompTIA Security+ CE or equivalent certification) or be able to be certified within 6 months of hire date
  • Full time 100% onsite position

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Typically requires a bachelor’s degree and 5 years of experience, or master’s degree and 5 years of prior relevant experience.
  • Must have an active and in-scope US DoD secret clearance. US citizenship is required as only US citizens are eligible for security clearance
  • Must have Linux experience
  • Experience in one of the following: Active Directory, VMware, system hardening, disaster recovery

Qualifications We Value: 

  • Experience with NISPOM, JAFAN, JSIG, DFARS and/or DoD/RMF
  • Familiarity with High Performance Computing (HPC) Environments
  • Experience with Enterprise Active Directory (AD) & LDAP
  • Experience with security posturing using tools like SCAP, Nessus, Splunk, Symantec and other AV solutions, and system hardening.
  • Experience supporting engineers in software, simulations, and hardware development.
  • Able to real-time troubleshoot and develop solutions with documentation to a variety of technical problems.

The salary range for this role is 86,800 USD - 165,200 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills. Hired applicants may be eligible for benefits, including but not limited to, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, flexible work schedules, employee assistance program, Employee Scholar Program, parental leave, paid time off, and holidays. Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance. This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
