What success looks like in this role:

Position Summary

The Linux Systems Support role provides ongoing Systems Administration support, including installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of hardware, software, applications, and connectivity components for Linux environments across multiple locations. This role provides technical support and advises on the use of programming tools, database systems, and networks.

Operational responsibilities include remediation of daily incident tickets, system compliance, system run enhancement, testing, staging, policy/procedure enhancement, client contact coordination, and operational recommendations to address availability and reliability issues on Linux systems.

Core Responsibilities

Systems Administration & Support

  • Provides Systems Administration support for an organization, functional unit, or line of business, building on responsibilities such as:
  • Administers development, test and production servers, including reloading, re-imaging and debugging problems.
  • Installs, removes, and upgrades software packages on test, development, and production servers.

Monitoring & Troubleshooting

  • Performs daily monitoring of network systems, independently initiating proactive measures to ensure functionality, connectivity, and load balance.
  • Troubleshoots systems and host environments, identifying and resolving faults, inconsistencies, and systemic issues.
  • Evaluates, recommends, and implements solutions to ensure systems functionality and compliance with company standards.

Documentation & Compliance

  • Provides network and systems evaluation and operational reports.
  • Updates systems records and ensures maintenance of accurate information.
  • Ensures computer programs in company use are properly licensed, adhere to company standards, and are operational and functional.

Training & Knowledge Transfer

  • Assists systems users by creating instructional how-to guides and by providing technical information and training.

You will be successful in this role if you have:

  • BA/BS degree and 2-4 years of relevant experience OR equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Working expertise in Linux systems administration.
  • Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills.
  • U.S. Citizenship and U.S. residency required.
