Hot Apprentice Lineman (4th Year Preferred)

N Line Electric is seeking an experienced Hot Apprentice Lineman to join our growing team based in Mead/Longmont, Colorado. We primarily perform work throughout Colorado and Wyoming and are also interested in hiring qualified traveling apprentices.

This position is ideal for motivated apprentices seeking steady work, competitive pay, and opportunities to work on energized distribution systems alongside experienced Journeyman Linemen. Looking for long term employees.

Position Overview

Qualified candidates will perform construction, maintenance, and repair work on energized 5kV35kV overhead and underground distribution systems under the direction and supervision of a Journeyman Lineman.

Work Schedule

  • 4050 hours per week
  • Monday through Friday
  • Overtime as needed

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Build, maintain, and repair overhead and underground distribution systems, both energized and de-energized
  • Work safely on energized distribution lines and equipment
  • Plan and execute work in accordance with company safety standards and construction specifications
  • Operate, maintain, and properly position line trucks and equipment
  • Stock vehicles and maintain tools, materials, and equipment
  • Perform installations, repairs, and maintenance tasks with minimal supervision
  • Troubleshoot distribution system issues and assist in service restoration efforts

Minimum Qualifications

Education

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Currently enrolled in an accredited line apprenticeship program
  • Minimum two years of apprenticeship completion required

Experience

  • Minimum four years of apprenticeship experience preferred
  • Approximately 5,000 hours of line work experience preferred
  • Previous experience as an Apprentice Lineman or Lineman Helper required
  • Completion of an accredited line school program is a plus

Licenses & Certifications

  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
  • Acceptable driving record

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Ability to perform physically demanding work in all weather conditions
  • Strong understanding of electrical theory, distribution systems, and industry terminology
  • Ability to safely use equipment and instruments to measure electrical current and voltage
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, layouts, and construction drawings
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety
  • Ability to perform material inventories and maintain accurate records
