The Digital Content Specialist is a creative, mission-driven position responsible for capturing, creating, and sharing the everyday stories of Salt + Light through social media, photography, short form videography, and digital engagement. This role helps bring the organization's mission to life by producing authentic, compelling content that deepens community connection, inspires action, and expands awareness of Salt + Light's impact throughout the community.
The Digital Content Specialist serves as a storyteller, content creator, and digital ambassador for Salt + Light. Working closely with the Design + Digital Experience Supervisor and in collaboration with the Director of Development, this position helps elevate the organization's digital presence and establish Salt + Light as a leading voice in conversations surrounding homelessness, dignity, belonging, housing, and community transformation.
This role combines creative content production, relationship-building, digital engagement, and strategic communication to help ensure that the stories, people, programs, and mission of Salt + Light are effectively represented across digital platforms.
Requirements
Social Media Content Creation & Management
  • Execute Salt + Light's social media strategy across multiple digital platforms.
  • Create engaging social media content including posts, stories, reels, short-form videos, graphics, and other digital assets.
  • Assist with content planning, campaign development, and content calendar implementation.
  • Write captions, stories, and digital content that align with Salt + Light's voice, values, and messaging.
  • Schedule and publish content across social media platforms.
  • Monitor social media trends, platform updates, and emerging content opportunities.
