Job Description

ROLE OVERVIEW

The Platemaker - Operative is responsible for producing plates and ensure the quality of the finished product through the utilization of QC tools/software. Prepare all of our imaged products for shipment, in a manner that will insure the integrity and quality of the imaged product.

SCHEDULE: Work a 2-2-3 straight night shift from 6pm-6am

COMPENSATION: Starting pay based on experience from $29.69-$31.34/hour + $1.20 premium!

WHAT YOU GET TO DO

  • To process jobs per written and, or verbal instructions from the Imaging Supervisor or Imaging Manager.

  • To be familiar with the terms, tools, procedures, and work instructions required to handle and prepare imaged material.

  • To understand, be familiar with, and be capable of utilizing, the documented customer specifications.

  • Create accurate records within the Imaging database.

  • Package and ship all plate orders.

  • To accurately use the Amcor Image Carrier Order system to record all critical production information.

  • Assists in the training of new employees

  • To communicate with printing plants the timing of plates when needed

  • Any other duties assigned as temporary or routine related to their job description

JOB DUTIES:

  • Image plates on the imager

  • Ensure all Bulbs in the light frame and the processor are operating

  • Replace Bulbs as needed

  • Restock plate material in staging area as needed utilizing the tow motor

  • Setup jobs in a manner that minimizes waste while gaining efficiencies utilizing ESKO Merge software.

  • Logging all jobs / plates measurements in the Amcor Image Carrier Order system accurately

  • Perform Quality inspection on all finished plates

  • Packing / preparing plates shipments

  • Any new procedures that are deemed necessary by the Imaging Manager & Supervisor.

OTHER DUTIES:

  • Keeping all tools in their proper location.

  • Cleaning glass on light tables

  • Complete all daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance and cleaning tasks as scheduled

  • Emptying all trash

  • Utilize the KANBAN process to ensure all supplies used in the department are readily available.

  • General Maintenance of all equipment in department.

  • Any other activity deemed necessary by the Imaging Manager.
