Description

Renewables Civil Project Engineer

Westwood Professional Services, Inc.


The Project Engineer is responsible for designs and deliverables that support the permitting and construction of renewable energy projects. Project Engineers apply general engineering knowledge to design a complete project independently. They also direct and review work by staff engineers and technicians, develop a holistic perspective of the project lifecycle, and participate in client interactions.

Requirements


  • Complete all designs and deliverables to support the permitting, designing, and construction of renewable energy projects.
  • Collaborate with and direct other design team members to complete design tasks and produce project deliverables that meet stakeholder requirements and adhere to relevant codes and standards.
  • Provide clear directions for Staff Engineers and Technicians.
  • Support Lead Engineers and provide coverage in their absence.
  • Develop an understanding of the project lifecycle related to your technical area of expertise.
  • Apply broad knowledge of engineering principles and practices.
  • Independently evaluate, select, and adapt standard techniques, procedures, and criteria.
  • Gain specialized knowledge and develop engineering skills through mentored experiences.
  • Gain the ability to function on multidisciplinary teams.
  • Collaborate with internal team members to uphold company standards and consistency



Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
  • Must have 2-4 years of experience in the discipline within the A&E industry.
  • EIT certification required, recent PE preferred.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and tactfully with department personnel and office staff; must possess strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Proficient with AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
  • Experience managing design staff is a plus.
  • Must be detail-oriented and efficient in problem-solving.
  • Must have an interest in renewable energy development and design.


For Preferred Consideration (Not Required):

  • Ideal candidate will have experience in renewable energy or display passion to learn about the renewable energy industry.
  • Experience managing Land Development or Public Infrastructure projects
