What you need to know You’ll be on a path to become a financial advisor. Our wealth advisory curriculum focuses on wealth accumulation strategies using a goals-based planning approach. You’ll focus in your first 12–18 months on obtaining licensing, earning professional designations and completing the core curriculum. New York Life pays 100% of the costs to obtain the following licenses and designations associated with becoming a financial professional and the Retirement Planning Practice Model coursework:
