Life Insurance Sales Manager (Field Leadership)

Overview

Join Kemper as a Life Insurance Sales Manager, where you'll recruit, develop, and lead a team of agents while driving territory growth through hands-on field leadership. This role is ideal for a motivated leader who enjoys coaching others, building relationships, and leading by example. You'll spend the majority of your time working alongside agents in the field, helping them succeed while growing your own career.

What You'll Do

  • Recruit, hire, train, and retain a high-performing team of insurance agents
  • Lead by example through active in-person sales, including door-to-door prospecting and in-home customer presentations
  • Coach agents through regular field ride-alongs, providing real-time sales training and development
  • Build a strong local presence by networking within the community to recruit talent and generate new business opportunities
  • Drive territory growth by supporting agents in achieving sales goals and expanding customer relationships
  • Monitor agent activity, identify coaching opportunities, and provide performance feedback to improve results
  • Conduct field and phone-based business reviews to reinforce compliance, customer engagement, and effective sales practices
  • Demonstrate and reinforce the use of company technology, sales tools, and business processes

Qualifications

  • Active Life, Health, Property, and Casualty insurance licenses in required states
  • Proven success recruiting, developing, and coaching sales professionals
  • Strong leadership, communication, and performance management skills
  • Comfortable spending approximately 80% of your time in the field working directly with agents and customers
  • Valid driver's license, dependable personal vehicle, and minimum 100k/300k auto liability insurance coverage
  • Ability to pass a background check, motor vehicle report check, and drug screening
  • Authorization to work in the United States

Compensation

Total on-target earnings (OTE) typically range from $47,600 to $111,200 annually based on expected performance, including a $25,000 base salary plus uncapped commission. Earnings are driven by new business growth and expanding relationships within an existing customer base, with additional upside through multiple bonus opportunities. High performers may also qualify for annual incentive trips. Top performers may exceed the stated range, with the top 10% earning $220,000+ annually.
