Position Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented Medical Licensing Specialist to oversee the licensing processes for our healthcare physicians, nurses, and clinicians. This role will drive the licensing process in a proactive, organized, and streamlined manner, maintaining audit-ready provider files.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the End-to-End Licensing Process: Handle state licensing, DEA, and controlled substance certificates for clinical personnel across all 50 states.
- Licensure Renewals: Proactively manage the renewal process for existing providers to prevent service interruptions.
- Compliance & Liaison: Maintain compliance with state and federal licensing regulations; act as the primary liaison with state medical boards.
- Document Management: Verify licenses, certifications, work history, and malpractice history.
- Database Maintenance: Maintain accurate, up-to-date licensing data within company databases or software systems (e.g., Symplr, Modio).
- Communication: Update internal teams on changes in licensing laws and assist with clinician onboarding. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6]
Requirements
- Experience: 3+ years of experience in medical licensing or credentialing.
- Knowledge: Strong understanding of state-specific licensing requirements, IMLC, and FSMB regulations.
- Skills: Exceptional organizational skills and high attention to detail.
- Technology: Proficient in MS Office/Google Workspace and experience with Credentialing/Licensing software.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with multi-state licensing for telehealth providers.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact with state boards and providers.
