Job Type: W2 Short term Contract
Expected Hours per Week: 40 hours per week
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8-5.
Pay Range: $38-40 per hour.

Position Summary:
An Automotive Research Library (RLIS) is seeking an experienced Research Librarian to manage scientific and engineering information resources and provide research support to employees worldwide. This role focuses on delivering access to journals, books, databases, and industry standards while supporting internal knowledge systems and employee research needs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage and deliver access to scientific and engineering resources (journals, books, databases, industry standards).
  • Conduct on-demand research and provide information support via in-person, email, and MS Teams.
  • Manage up to 30 weekly current awareness alerts for employees.
  • Review and approve industry standards requests.
  • Maintain and support internal databases, including technical reports and acronym database.
  • Support library catalog operations including circulation and eBook management.
  • Assist with cataloging (MARC) and updating library systems.
  • Conduct training sessions for employees on library tools and resources.
  • Assist with internal library website development and maintenance.
  • Utilize AI tools to enhance information search and retrieval.

Required Qualifications:
  • Master's Degree in Library/Information Science (MLS/MLIS).
  • 5+ years of experience in a corporate or academic library (engineering/science focus).
  • Strong knowledge of engineering/scientific literature, databases, and industry standards.
  • Experience in Information Management and Knowledge Management.
  • Experience providing research and information support to users.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience using AI tools for research/search.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's or advanced degree in Engineering or Sciences.
  • Experience delivering in-person or virtual training.
  • Knowledge of MARC cataloging and online library systems.
  • Experience with website development or maintenance.
  • Experience with Serials Solutions 360 Link.
