Back to Basics Learning Dynamics (B2B) is a premier education services provider approaching 40 years of exceptional services.  We offer 1-on-1 tutoring, translating and interpreting, speech and occupational therapists, reading specialists, psycho-educational testing, 1-on-1 test prep for the SAT & ACT and more. Position Description:
We are seeking a part-time, in-person High School Math Tutor to provide 1:1 or group tutoring instruction during day-time hours, depending on your availability. 

  • Location:  Various locations across New Castle County
  • Type: Part-time 
  • Schedule: Flexible; We are looking for a tutor who can support for less than 10 hours a week between 8AM - 3PM, depending on your availability. Additional hours in the evening may be available.
  • Travel: Tutor may be traveling to different locations across New Castle County to provide tutoring (for example, in schools or libraries)

What you’ll do: 
  • Provide 1:1 or small group tutoring for instruction in high school math in a school setting or library setting. 
  • Develop tailored lesson plans based on student needs and learning styles
  • Use creative, hands-on approaches to make the subject engaging and relevant
  • Maintain accurate documentation of student's sessions and progress
  • Communicate with parents regularly and student's teacher as needed
  • Adjust instruction techniques to accommodate students with learning differences

Your qualifications: 
  • A minimum of 2 years of teaching or tutoring experience with high school-aged students (excluding student teaching) in the topic of Math (like, Geometry, Algebra I & II, Statistics, etc.)
  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills 
  • Ability to adapt lesson plans and teaching approaches based on student engagement, need, and skill level
  • Ability to manage student(s) in group setting 
  • Ability to travel to different locations in New Castle County (like schools, libraries, etc.)
