Are you a proactive individual who excels in communication and sales, loves people, loves books, and loves libraries? The team behind our storied brand Thorndike Press is currently seeking an high-performing Library Sales Consultant to join us at Cengage. In this role, you will be responsible for promoting and selling our large print book editions to customers in the Public Library market. Your exceptional communication and sales skills will play a vital role in establishing strong customer relationships and recognizing sales opportunities. Occasional travel is required for team meetings and events.

What you'll do here:
  • Engage with our public library customers to meet or exceed your sales targets
  • Identify and prospect potential new library customers within your territory
  • Conduct outbound sales calls and emails to potential and current customers
  • Develop and maintain a strong sales pipeline
  • Prospect, present, propose, and close sales of our large print lists
Skills you will need here:
  • High school diploma or equivalent (Bachelor's degree preferred); equivalent experience will also be considered.
  • Proven experience in inside sales or a related customer-facing role
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent presentation and closing skills
  • Proactive and dedicated to delivering high-quality outcomes
  • Ability to build and maintain customer relationships
  • Proficient in using CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Experience working with or in public libraries, knowledge of the publishing industry and experience with large print books is a plus

The full base pay range has been provided for this position. Individual base pay will vary based on work schedule, qualifications, experience, internal equity, and geographic location. Sales roles often incorporate a significant incentive compensation program beyond this base pay range.

$19.00 - $24.00 USD
