Job description

SUPPORT STAFF SUBSTITUTE OPPORTUNITIES:

  • Educational Assistant  Assistants work directly with the classroom teacher. Highly qualified paraprofessional status preferred (more information below).
  • Food Service  Current Food Handlers Certificate required
  • Secretary  Prior secretarial experience preferred
  • Custodian  Prior custodial experience preferred


GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

  • Behavior management techniques preferred
  • Ability to work harmoniously with others and to communicate effectively with students, parents and teachers.
  • Ability to follow general oral and written instructions.
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative in task performance.
  • Ability to pass a Criminal Background/fingerprint check ($70 fee)
  • Completion of annual district trainings


TILLAMOOK SCHOOL DISTRICT - HIGHLY QUALIFIED PARAPROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Tillamook School District requires that all paraprofessionals be "Highly Qualified". There are 3 ways you can meet these requirements.

  • Possess an Associate's (or higher) degree, or
  • Complete two years of study at an institute of higher education with a minimum of 72 quarter college credits or 48 semester college credits, or
  • Pass a local assessment test demonstrating basic knowledge of reading, writing and mathematics skills. (Accuplacer)TBCC Next-Generation AccuPlacer Test
