While both roles collaborate on library projects, their core responsibilities and credentials differ, with Library Architects typically holding architecture licenses and focusing on structural design, whereas Library Designers concentrate on interior and spatial aesthetics.

Is AI replacing librarians?

Library designers and librarians use AI tools to improve cataloging, search functions, and user experience, but AI is not replacing the role of librarians. Instead, AI enhances their ability to manage information and serve patrons more efficiently, requiring skills in technology and digital tools. Human judgment and interpersonal skills remain essential in library services.
