Job description

GCU Library - Library Aide (FWS)

Position Summary/Purpose:

The purpose of the GCU Library Aide position is to assist students, faculty, and staff with using the Library and to promote Library services and resources.

Primary Responsibilities/Accountabilities/ Essential Functions:

  • Perform circulation duties, including the checking in and out of Library materials
  • Provide prompt and friendly service to GCU students, faculty, and staff
  • Assist library users with using Library equipment and resources
  • Perform a variety of administrative tasks
  • Shelve library materials
  • Maintain a clean and safe library environment
  • Other duties as assigned

Equipment Used and Responsibility:

  • Must possess excellent computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Library databases and online search engines
  • Springshare LibApps
  • Integrated Library System software such as Innovative's Sierra

Qualifications:

  • Must be available to work a flexible schedule. Weekend and opening/closing shifts required.
  • Willingness to learn and provide excellent customer service
  • Proficiency in Word and Excel
  • Dependable and punctual

Experience/Education:

Grand Canyon University is committed to a student first policy. Therefore, all applicants must meet the following eligibility requirements to be considered for student employment:

  • Enrolled at GCU as a full-time campus student in a Bachelor's program.
  • Retain a 2.0 GPA as a Bachelor level student.
  • Maintain good financial and academic (SAP) standing with the University.

You may be subject to termination if you fall below the minimum requirements.

Pay Rate: Minimum Wage

Anticipated End Date: June 30, 2027
