Job Description

The Church History Department is seeking a highly organized, motivated, and globally-minded intern to join the department for a year-long, 40-hour per week paid internship at the Church History Library in Salt Lake City, Utah. The incumbent will process, arrange, describe, and catalog digital and analog acquisitions to support our mission to collect, preserve, and share the history of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and its members.

Responsibilities

Arrange and describe analog, digital, and audiovisual records Create catalog entries and collection registers Assist in managing varied workflows Learn and apply department record access policies Review cataloging work of others Qualifications Paid Interns are qualified while enrolled in an educational institution and for one year following graduation. They must sign a Paid Internship Engagement Letter. Able to work in person at the Church History Library 40 hours per week. Work must be accomplished between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Bachelor's or Master's degree or pursuing a degree in history, library science, international studies, genealogy, or a related field Self-motivated and dependable Detail-oriented, highly organized, and able to manage multiple projects at a time Excellent English, editorial, and oral and written communication skills High proficiency in Microsoft Office tools, particularly Word, PowerPoint, and Excel Demonstrated ability to learn new technologies and apply industry standards Ability to thrive in a team environment About Us Church employees find joy and satisfaction in using their unique talents and abilities to further the Lord's work.
