The Utah Schools for the Deaf and the Blind (USDB) invites you to consider a rewarding employment opportunity with our agency that has variety built in! We are looking for an enthusiastic and caring Library Technician II who will not only process and handle library materials in our Educational Resource Center (ERC), but also, under the supervision of the ERC Library Program Coordinator, conduct weekly story time and approved Library Curriculum for students who are deaf/hard-of-hearing. The successful candidate will work primarily out of the Ogden Campus and travel to the other campuses periodically.
Roles and Responsibilities
As a Library Technician II, you:
- Plan, schedule, develop and present weekly story time programs, and educational enrichment events for deaf/hard-of-hearing students who fulfill the Library Media and Expanded Core Curriculum and/or the USDB mission.
- Work primarily at the circulation desk to assist patrons (teachers, staff, students, parents, and the general public) and fulfill their educational and informational needs.
- Check and shelve materials in the appropriate location.
- Provide ready reference, research, readers' advisory, and circulation services to patrons.
- Travel between the Ogden, Springville and Salt Lake campuses is required. Must be able and willing to drive as necessary.
