Minimum Billable hour: 1,500

JOB DESCRIPTION

ย 

The ideal candidate would be a highly motivated and detail-oriented Litigation Associate with 3-5 yearsโ€™ prior experience in commercial litigation.ย He or she will have a strong background in handling complex litigation as well as construction litigation, employment law- a lot of class actions, torts, Insurance defense practice areas, excellent analytical and writing skills, and a passion for advocating on behalf of clients. As an Associate, you will assist in all aspects of litigation, including case preparation, discovery, drafting, depositions, trial preparation, and client communication.




Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the development and implementation of case strategies from inception to resolution.
  • Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, answers, discovery requests, as well as participating in the development of a strategy for written and deposition discovery and other legal documents.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis to support case strategies and litigation tactics.
  • Represent clients in hearings, depositions, and settlement negotiations.
  • Manage discovery, including preparing and responding to document requests, subpoenas, and interrogatories.
  • Review and summarize case files, deposition transcripts, and other materials.
  • Participate in trial preparation, including witness preparation, exhibits, and case organization.
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys to provide strategic guidance to clients.
  • Attend court hearings, pretrial conferences, and trials as needed.
  • Maintain accurate records and case documentation, ensuring compliance with deadlines and legal procedures.
  • Stay updated on legal developments, trends, and case law relevant to the practice areas.
  • Federal court experience is a plus.



Qualifications:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to practice law in Ohio.
  • 3-5 years of experience in litigation, with a focus on business/commercial litigation preferred.
  • Strong research, writing, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively within a team and communicate with clients.
  • A detail-oriented and organized approach to work.
  • A proactive and problem-solving mindset with the ability to work independently and take initiative.



Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with all Microsoft Office and 365 and Outlook.
  • Experience in legal research software such as Lexis Nexis/Westlaw or other.
  • Strong interest in developing and growing a litigation practice.
